About Buffed and Gone

In the 1990’s cameras only exposed film. It wasn’t cheap or easy to take great photos. The photos on this blog are all from the 1990’s and dated as accurately as possible. Most photos are mine, but some may be doubles that were exchanged with other graffiti documentary photographers. This site is an effort to share a small portion of the great history of graffiti. The scene of the 1990’s built on the foundation of the 1980’s and moved into the new millennium. Graffiti today has a similar style and aesthetic to that of the past. Access to the forbidden art of the graffiti via the internet has evolved into designer paints, sponsorship, gallery success, and endless self-promotion. Take a moment to appreciate some paint that has long been covered and respect the work.
